Arleen was born March 19, 1924, at Wilbur, Wash., to Sandy and Violet Pearce. She graduated from Creston, Wash., High School in 1942 and married Robert P. Warren on Oct. 8, 1943. Her daughter, Kathy (Warren) Parsells, was born Sept. 15, 1949.

Arleen and Robert "Bob" moved to White Bird and spent approximately 20 years there where Bob worked in the sawmill. She worked as a phone operator in White Bird with the old crank phones and hand-operated switchboard. They enjoyed boating on the Salmon River, where they built a cabin on a beach.

In 1970, Arleen and Bob moved to Western Samoa, where Bob assisted in building a sawmill. After two years in Samoa, they moved to Coeur d'Alene. Bob then worked in sawmills in Coeur d'Alene, Kooskia, Riggins and Hines, Ore., where Arleen was a homemaker. Bob passed away July 23, 1990, and she moved to Grangeville to be near Kathy and her family. When Rod and Kathy moved to Lewiston, Arleen moved to Wilbur, Wash., to help care for her mother.

While living in Wilbur, Wash., Arleen was introduced to her late life companion, Jim Ryan, in the late 1990s. Jim and Arleen moved to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. They were together until September of this year when each required assistance. Jim passed in November.
