An accomplished violinist, she performed with the UI orchestra, and later with the North Idaho Old Time Fiddlers. She was active with the Dorcas Society and other service organizations, participated in the Troy Garden Club, Ladies Aid and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Her volunteer activities included quilting for service organizations in Troy, Deary and other surrounding communities. Many of the hundreds of patchwork quilts she and her friends created were donated to shelters, other organizations and individuals in need. Alice participated in Maranatha and many volunteer activities with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its missionary and educational efforts.
