The YWCA of Lewiston-Clarkston was selected as one of 60 domestic violence shelters around the country that will receive a $20,000 grant from the Mary Kay Ash Foundation, the foundation announced this week.
The YWCA will use the funds to complete repairs and upgrades, such as painting and flooring, at its shelter, said Laurie Lewis, the executive director of the YWCA.
“Grant funds from the Mary Kay Ash Foundation help the YWCA create safe and comfortable spaces for those who are seeking shelter to escape domestic violence,” Lewis said in an email to the Tribune.
The grants are being awarded on the occasion of Mary Kay Inc.’s 60th anniversary.
