A little dip in temperatures is expected this weekend, with highs reaching the mid-70s on the Palouse and mid-80s in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. The skies will remain clear, with the chance of smoke from nearby fires possibly creating some haze in the area. Overnight, the mercury is expected to fall about 30 degrees.

TODAY

PIERCE - 1860 Days begins today and runs through Sunday with food, craft and gift vendors on Main Street in Pierce all three days. Cherry and berry pie entries can be dropped off between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. today at the community center and the kick-off barbecue runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the center. Saturday begins with sign up for the softball tournament at 9 a.m. at the ball field and the parade begins at noon. The activities pile up with a 1 p.m. firewood derby, 2 p.m. auction on Main Street and a ping pong ball drop is set for 2:45. A bucket brigade contest is slated for 3:30 p.m. and the kids' Stick Horse Roundup begins at 4 p.m. The day's events conclude with live music by Rake Fighters from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Main Street. The first pitch for the softball tournament will be thrown out at 8 a.m. Sunday at the ball field and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. there will be a number of kids' activities, water balloon toss and a pie eating contest at the Courtyard Park pavilion.

SATURDAY

Lewiston's Life Choices Clinic will hold a Walk for Life fundraiser at 8 a.m. at Kiwanis Park, 1114 Snake River Ave., in Lewiston. The requested donation is $20 for the 1.5-mile walk or 5K fun run or $30 with a T-shirt. The family-friendly event includes food vendors, prizes and activities, including a bouncy castle for children.

HARVARD - The Moscow Food Co-Op is seeking volunteers to help pick organic blueberries at Sexton Farms near Harvard. Volunteers can show up between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and are asked to dress appropriately for outdoor activities with close-toed shoes, sun protection and plenty of water. Volunteers can choose to purchase the berries on site. Registration is requested at www.moscowfood.coop/crop-mobbing or by calling (208) 882-8537. Sexton Farms is located at 1181 Old River Road near Harvard.

SUNDAY

COTTONWOOD - The 26th annual Raspberry Festival kicks off with a pancake breakfast for a cost of $5 at the museum from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, 465 Keuterville Road, Cottonwood. Registration for the 8 a.m. fun run/walk begins at 7 a.m. at the museum. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the annual fundraiser for the monastery's museum will include arts and crafts vendors, kids' carnival, face painting, museum visits, living history encounters and cultural demonstrations. Lunch will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue beef sandwiches, raspberry shortcake and raspberry lemonade. A car show and live music are scheduled throughout the day and tours of the monastery chapel will be available throughout the day.

SPALDING - In honor of the centennial of the Migratory Bird Act, the movie "March of the Penguins" will be screened at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nez Perce National Historical Park, located about 12 miles east of Lewiston off of U.S. Highway 95. The event is free.
