ASOTIN — Two juveniles were taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Monday following a vehicle crash, just south of Asotin along Snake River Road.

According to a news release, Asotin County deputies and Lewiston medics were dispatched to the scene around 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, deputies located a red 2006 Ford Ranger that had left the road, ejecting both occupants.

One of them was a girl, a Clarkston resident who was lodged under the pickup truck, but deputies and medics were able to free her, Sheriff John Hilderbrand said. Both occupants were reportedly not wearing seat belts, and their injuries appeared non-life-threatening.

Hilderbrand said alcohol and speed appear to have been factors, and the crash remains under investigation. The juvenile driver was a Lewiston resident, and the vehicle is registered to Shaun Fiamengo, of Lewiston, according to the news release.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone with information about the crash to contact deputies at (509) 243-4717 or Whitcom Regional Dispatch Center at (509) 758-2331.
