COEUR D'ALENE - Authorities in Idaho said a man has died when his motorboat was struck by another operated by a suspected drunk driver.

Sgt. Matt Street of the Kootenai County sheriff's department said 30-year-old Jack A. Miller Jr. of Stites was killed Saturday while fishing with a friend on the Spokane River near Mill River.

Street said Miller's boat was not moving when it was struck by a smaller motorboat driven by 45-year-old John F. Klinefelter of Coeur d'Alene. He said Miller and his friend, both of whom were not wearing life jackets, were thrown overboard while Klinefelter's boat ran ashore.
