Recall of Kamiah mayor set to appear on ballot

KAMIAH — Kamiah Mayor Betty Heater will face a potential recall election.

A group of Kamiah voters allege Heater has engaged in fiscal mismanagement and has demonstrated a lack of administrative control over the small town.

They led a petition campaign and gathered enough signatures to ask voters in May’s primary election if Heater should be recalled.

Heater can either resign by Friday or submit rebuttal language by March 25 that will appear on the ballot.
