Clarkston Rotarians are working nights this week to install new playground equipment in Foster Park at Diagonal and Sycamore streets.
A group of about 20 club members worked about four hours Wednesday night and were scheduled to work again Thursday and Friday nights to finish the job, Rotary spokesman Rick Wasem said.
A prefabricated playground equipment kit was purchased with a $14,000 grant from the Washington Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. Some of the grant money also will go toward equipment and improvements at Beachview Park.
The city needed to match the state grant with cash and donations of labor and equipment. In addition to their labor, the Rotary donated $2,000 to the Foster Park.
