MOSCOW - A Palouse resident and a young child were injured Tuesday evening in a one-vehicle rollover near Four Mile Road north of Moscow on U.S. Highway 95.

David Caudle, 65, of Palouse, was driving northbound on the highway when the Idaho State Police reported he fell asleep at about 6:45 p.m. His vehicle then drifted off the road and hit an embankment, causing the car to roll.

Caudle, along with an unidentified 4-year-old child riding in the passenger seat, were taken to Gritman Medical Center in Moscow to be treated for injuries. The extent of their injuries were unknown. A nursing supervisor at Gritman said the hospital did not have information on Caudle as of 10 p.m.

Caudle was not wearing a seat belt, according to the state police. The road was blocked for a brief period while the state police investigated the accident.
