A plane that disappeared in 1948 carrying prominent Lewiston businessman Joe Rosenkranz and another Lewiston resident has been found, nearly 39 years later.

The maroon Stinson airplane disappeared Oct. 24, 1948, when Rosenkranz and W.J. (Bud) Bolick took off from Moose Creek Ranches in the heart of what is now Idaho's rugged Selway Bitterroot wilderness.
