The Valley Boys and Girls Club will use Centennial Elementary School this summer for a pilot program in Lewiston Orchards, but not without a few strings. A list of strict, detailed guidelines for the building's use was drafted by a district-wide steering committee, and if the guidelines aren't followed, the district can give the club five days written notice to shut down and clear out.

Nine Lewiston High School business law students acted as attorneys, witnesses and bailiff Monday in a mock trial presided over by Magistrate Linda C. Trout, 2nd District Judge Ronald D. Schilling and attorney John Stellmon. The students practiced the procedures for a month with adviser Darrell May, with help from Nez Perce County Deputy Prosecutor William Lambert and attorneys Stellmon and Charles M. Stroschein.

ASOTIN - Lester Kiesecker of Troy, Ore., has donated a half-Shetland filly pony to the Asotin County Civic Association to award as a prize in the county fair, announced fair board President Forrest Floch. The pony, which is almost a year old, will be awarded to a boy or girl age 14 or younger at the April 25 rodeo at Asotin County Fairgrounds.
