The annual art mart of the Valley Art Center, 842 Sixth St., Clarkston, will be Dec. 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists from the Lewis-Clark Empire have been invited to participate.

Boy Scouts have long been advised to "Be prepared," but are they ready for decreased funding, a greater need for volunteers and consolidation of councils? The Lewis and Clark Boy Scout Council, like councils across the nation, is grappling with those issues. The council, based in Lewiston, will consolidate with the Inland Northwest Council of Spokane next year. The Lewis-Clark Council serves 1,700 Boy Scouts, and about 40 percent of those live in Whitman and Latah counties and in Elk River.

A sparse crowd wandered through the newly opened doors of the Northwest Powerboat Association Welded Aluminum Jet Boat Show and Sale Friday afternoon at the Nez Perce County Fair Pavilion. "We haven't sold anything, but there's a lot of interest," said Michael Daugherty, who came over with three boats from Jetcraft of Oregon, based at Medford. Dealers displayed banners from Alberta, Montana, Oregon, the Tri-Cities and the Lewis-Clark Valley.
