The Nez Perce Tribe extended an air quality advisory for its reservation through 10 a.m. today.
Wildfire smoke is causing poor air quality throughout north central Idaho. According to the website AirNow.gov, the Clearwater River Valley near Kamiah dropped to “very unhealthy” Monday morning and air at Lewiston was unhealthy. Other areas of the region had air quality that ranged from moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups.
Wildfire smoke can be expected to move in and out of the area based on wind and fire activity, according to the advisory.
The tribe will not issue burn permits while the advisory remains in place.
