KAMIAH — Officials with the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest are seeking nine Idaho residents to serve on the North Central Idaho Resource Advisory Committee, it was announced recently.
The group works to review and recommend restoration and enhancement projects for lands within north central Idaho, according to a news release sent by forest officials.
“The projects that have been recommended by the Resource Advisory Committee result in positive environmental impacts as well as contribute to local communities and economies,” Cheryl Probert, supervisor of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, said in the news release. “We sincerely value those individuals who give up their time to serve.”
Members of the North Central Idaho RAC must reside in Idaho, and ideally be familiar with the national forest system lands and issues within Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce counties. Committee members typically attend two to four meetings per year and serve four-year terms. There is no compensation for those who serve, but their travel espenses are typically paid.
