LEWISTON - Idaho State Police arrested a 61-year-old man on multiple drug charges Thursday during a traffic stop near milepost 307 of U.S. Highway 95, just east of Lewiston.

Troopers stopped Phillip S. Tschimperle, who was driving a white Buick Lacrosse, for expired registration, according to an ISP news release. The vehicle is registered in Montana, and Tschimperle had a felony warrant out of Minnesota.

An ISP K9 unit was dispatched to the scene. The driver admitted to possession of drug paraphernalia, and approximately 35 pounds of marijuana was seized from the vehicle.

Tschimperle was arrested and booked for trafficking in marijuana over 25 pounds, possession of schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana oil resin.
