Pair to receive awards at Murrow symposium

PULLMAN - National Public Radio's Deborah Amos and Public Broadcasting System's Judy Woodruff will receive the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award at the 36th annual Murrow Symposium April 19 and 20 on the Washington State University campus.

The event will include workshops, group discussions and a special evening program exploring new trends and challenges in the fields of journalism, broadcasting, organizational communications and public relations. The daytime sessions and evening roundtable discussion are free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.

The registration deadline is Tuesday and attendees can sign up online at wsu.edu/murrow. For those unable to attend, there will be an opportunity to join the plenary sessions online via the Virtual Journalism Summit. Information about how to access the online program can be found at murrowsymposium.wsu.edu.

seeks applicants

The Asotin County Housing Authority Board is seeking a volunteer for a position as a board member.

The term for board members is five years and the board meets once a month on the second Tuesday. All letters of interest will be reviewed along with the existing member's request to be reappointed.
