Fair begins Thursday and runs through Sunday

MOSCOW — The Latah County Fair begins Thursday at the Latah County Fairgrounds and features animal judging, food vendors and live entertainment.

The animal judging will begin for 4-H and FFA students starting at 8 a.m. Thursday and includes swine, goats, rabbits, sheep, beef and poultry exhibits. The official opening ceremony for the fair is scheduled for 5:45 that afternoon.

The fair will run until 5 p.m. Sunday, and one of the last events will be a 1:30 p.m. goat costume contest and obstacle course. Logging sports will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday on the Main Lawn.

The fair will feature local bands and live entertainment acts that include local schools.

For example, the Moscow High School Rock Band will perform 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday. The Moscow High School Band will perform 12:15-1:30 p.m. Friday.

The Troy Community Theater will perform 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday; and 3-4 p.m. Saturday.

Exhibits will include artwork, crafts, baked goods, flowers, quilts and produce.

One contest will reward the owner of the largest zucchini with a $25 gift card to Palouse Juice.
