June G. Ramstedt died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow. She was 88.

She was born June 9, 1913, at Grangeville to Jacob G. and Rose Hurley Eimers. She grew up and attended school at Grangeville, graduating from high school there.

June then came to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho and was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. While in Moscow, she met Allen Ramstedt at Wright's Soda Fountain under the old Moscow Hotel. He walked her home that evening and they courted until their marriage in Grangeville June 26, 1935.

They made their home in Moscow, where he owned and operated Creighton's Clothing Store with his father. June went to work in the Latah County Assessor's Office, where she worked until her retirement.

She was a member of Gritman Hospital Auxiliary for many years, a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Chapter O of PEO Sisterhood, was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Mr. Ramstedt died last October.

Surviving are her daughter, Joan Norby of Rupert, Idaho; and son, Jay Ramstedt of Bellevue, Wash.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, C.W. Eimers of Grangeville.

In addition to her husband, two brothers, Paul G. Eimers and J. Richard Eimers, also died previously.

A private family service will be held later this spring.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Humane Society or to a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow.
