The public is invited to join a half-mile walk Sunday in Genesee to support people with Down syndrome.

Down Syndrome Connections Northwest, a nonprofit organization, is organizing the walk beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Genesee School baseball and football fields.

Aimee Gillis, who sits on the board of Down Syndrome Connections Northwest, said the Genesee School volleyball team and the University of Idaho’s Sigma Nu house will be in attendance. Multiple families with children who have Down syndrome are joining the walk.

Gillis said people can register the day of the event and make donations to Down Syndrome Connections Northwest.

The Genesee Volunteer Fire Department will bring fire trucks for the children to look at.
