Former Cottonwood resident honored as teacher in Ada district

Lisa Rehder Ellis, formerly of Cottonwood, recently was named the West Ada School District Employee of the month for December.

Ellis, daughter of Jim and Sally Rehder of Cottonwood, graduated from Prairie High School and then Lewis-Clark State College with and elementary school teaching certificate.

She played four years of college basketball for the Warriors. Ellis teaches second grade at Summerwind Stem Academy in Meridian.

West Ada School District has 5,000 certified and classified employees and 40,000 students. Each month the district selects two certified teaching staff and two classified staff for employee of the month award.
