United Farm Workers Foundation programs director Fatima Hernandez will give the keynote address for the University of Idaho's National Farmworker Awareness Week today.
The free event starts at 7 p.m. in the Vandal Ballroom of the Bruce M. Pitman Center.
The daughter of farmworkers and herself an immigrant, Hernandez helps immigrants through naturalization, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and family petitions in her role at the foundation, according to a UI news release.
The 17th annual awareness week is organized by UI's Office of Equity and Diversity and College Assistance Migrant Program.
