Chuck Weber, the grand worthy president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles national organization, will appear tonight at the Clarkston Eagles Lodge.
Longstanding members of the Clarkston lodge don’t remember the national leader ever visiting their location.
“We’re real excited. It’s a big honor,” said Jera Graham, the Clarkston club’s aerie president. “And it just shows that our club is growing and blossoming, and we have some of the best people that are involved in our aerie and auxiliary.”
The event tonight starts with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by a bite-size steak dinner and cheese cake dessert that starts at 6 p.m. Live music is planned for 7-11 p.m.
The event is open to all Clarkston Eagles members and their guests. There is no charge to attend, but dinner costs $15. The Clarkston Lodge is at 505 Maple St.
Weber, who is from Casper, Wyo., will speak at tonight’s event and is expected to discuss the charities that are his priority, Bridge to the Cure Diabetes Research Center and Denver Children’s Hospital Autism Awareness.
The Clarkston club, which has 441 members, generally donates $500 each month to a variety of charities. Some of its members also attend region and national Eagles events.
Graham said Weber is visiting just three lodges in Washington — Castle Rock, Deer Park and Clarkston.
“I’m so excited and our members deserve to be recognized,” Graham said.
