Several area organizations, businesses and churches are seeking donations to help with their efforts to benefit those affected by the current fires in the area.

Here are some of the donation opportunities:

  • A Convoy of Hope semitruck with relief supplies will stop at 8 a.m. today at Lapwai Assembly of God Church, 400 U.S. Highway 95, Lapwai. Volunteers are being sought to unload the trailer and break down pallets of relief supplies for those affected by the fires in Lapwai, Culdesac, Cottonwood Creek, Juliaetta, Kendrick and surrounding areas. The event is being organized by Redemption Church Clarkston.
  • Donations for fire crews and responders are being accepted at Lapwai United Methodist Church, 420 U.S. Highway 95, Lapwai.
  • A food drive is planned to benefit those affected by the Gwen Fire during the Orofino Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. today. The main dropoff location will be the info booth. House of JuJu restaurant in Orofino is also a place to leave donations.
  • Refined Realty of Lewiston announced on Facebook it will allow people to collect items donated for fire victims at 532 Bryden Ave., Lewiston, each day from 10 a.m. to noon and 5-7 p.m. There are clothes, toiletries, baby items, blankets, pillows, food and more. Also, those seeking to donate items can bring them to 532 Bryden Ave.
  • Washington Trust Bank in Moscow, Lewiston and Pullman is accepting food donations such as granola bars, jerky, water, Gatorade, trail mix, nuts, chips and other items for firefighters and families affect by the fire.
  • Idaho Animal Rescue Network is accepting donations for people and animals affected by the fire. Donations can be brought to 2021 Ripon Ave., Lewiston, or the Methodist Church in Lapwai.

Online fundraising pages have also been set up for people most effected by the fire. Here they are:

  • Cassie Dunn, Joseph Phillips and their two daughters had their Cottonwood Creek home burn down in the Gwen Fire. A GoFundMe page has been set up to benefit them. It can be found at bit.ly/4fiojUR.
  • Nic and Abby Pace’s home, car and clothing were lost in the Gwen Fire. A GoFundMe page to benefit the couple can be found at bit.ly/3WEsmmZ.
  • Kris Saldana lost her Juliaetta area home in the Gwen Fire. A GoFundMe page to benefit her can be found at bit.ly/3WFi0mW.
  • Cynthia (Ruark) Worth and Doug Worth lost their home near Lapwai and all their belongings in the Gwen Fire. The couple was away from their home while the fire approached. They returned to the home and were able to save their dogs while firefighters let their horses out of their pasture, according to a GoFundMe page established to benefit the couple.   • Phil and Elaine Hughes’ home was destroyed by the Gwen Fire not long after they evacuated it Thursday, according to a GoFundMe page set up to benefit them. That website can be found at bit.ly/4cWw5lA.
