Couple charged in White Bird cafe burglary

GRANGEVILLE - A couple from Pollock, Idaho, is awaiting extradition to Idaho County on felony and misdemeanor charges of burglary and theft.

Shamra C. Dewitt, 31, and Steeven G. Nunez, 29, both of Pollock, were arrested March 4 in Baker City, Ore., in connection with a burglary at Hoots Cafe in White Bird.

According to a news release from the Idaho County Sheriff's Office, cafe staff reported the theft of cash and business checks Feb. 23.

Idaho County deputies collected evidence and a video of the burglary, and arrest warrants were issued for Dewitt and Nunez. Both are charged with felony grand theft and burglary, and two misdemeanor counts of petit theft.

Bond has been set at $25,000 for Dewitt and $50,000 for Nunez.
