OROFINO — The Clearwater County Fair kicks off today throughout the weekend.
The event starts off with 4-H activities Thursday and Friday at the Clearwater County Fairgrounds. Orofino Lumberjack Days will take place Friday through Saturday. Grand marshals for the 2024 event are Rick and Janet Burnham and royalty members are princesses Taya Spencer and Jocelyn Josephson.
Here is a schedule of events:
Thursday: 4 p.m. Midway of Fun carnival at Orofino City Park.
Friday: 4:30 p.m. livestock buyers dinner; 5 p.m. 4-H livestock auction.
Saturday: 6-9 a.m. Orofino volunteer fireman’s breakfast at the firehouse; 10 a.m. parade and kiddie’s parade at Michigan and Johnson Avenue; 12:30 p.m. auction at the Rodeo Grounds; 6:30 p.m. horse pulling contest at the Orofino City Park.
Sunday: 7-10 a.m. Orofino volunteer fireman’s breakfast; 8 a.m. contestant sign in; 10 a.m. main log show at the Rodeo Grounds.
Main log show events include birling, springboard chop, horizontal shop, obstacle pole, ax-throwing, single bucking, Jack and Jill sawing, two Jill saw, two Jack saw, choker setting, stock power saw, speed climbing, tree topping and hot sawing.
