ASOTIN — A 53-year-old Clarkston woman is facing a felony charge for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old boy.
Laura B. Miller has been charged with third-degree rape of a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to documents filed in Asotin County Superior Court.
Miller reportedly told police she was asleep in her room, and when she woke up, the boy was taking her clothes off, and they had sex. During an interview with law enforcement, she told police she felt “violated,” and she shouldn’t have gone along with it, but he shouldn’t have come in her room and started undressing her in her sleep.
However, the alleged victim said he and Miller were hugging, massaging and kissing each other on a couch before they moved to her bedroom, where the incident took place Jan. 18. Miller allegedly supplied alcohol and smoked marijuana with the minor on the same evening.
Afterward, the boy was reportedly “devastated and humiliated,” according to the probable-cause affidavit. “I never forced anything, once,” the juvenile said in police reports.
The case was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review, and Prosecutor Curt Liedkie filed the charges this week. No court dates have been scheduled.
Third-degree rape of a child is a Class C felony, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. The age of consent in the state of Washington is 16.
