  • A budget amendment was approved for the purchase of Watchguard video equipment for the police department. Police Chief Joel Hastings said $9,000 was originally budgeted, but another $6,000 will be required. The money comes out of the drug enforcement fund.
  • The council authorized participation in the Washington State Basic Firefighter Training Program. Fire Chief Steve Cooper said a reimbursement of $3 per hour is available from the state for the training, and that money can be used for expenses for firefighter testing certification. Additional record keeping will be required to qualify for the reimbursement, Cooper said.
  • A resolution was passed to declare fire department air bottles as surplus property. The 27 bottles are outdated, Cooper said, but the city has been offered $150 trade-in for the valves on each bottle. The fire chief was authorized to transfer the items to general fire equipment for $4,050 in cash or merchandise trade.
