----Orchards Glass wins pair of contracts
Orchards Glass of Lewiston has been named glazing contractor for the $7.5 million Lewis-Clark State College Library project and the $12 million U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fish Hatchery project near Orofino, according to owner Mike Rosen.
The library building, designed by Ellis-Feeney Architects and Planners of Lewiston, includes four different types of aluminum, storefront windows sectioned into more than 80 openings. The glass itself is insulated, semi-reflective and energy efficient.
The library also is topped with two rows of blue-tinted sloped skylights.
The fish hatchery project near Orofino will consist of the hatchery buildings and the administrative building. Energy efficient storefront, as well as 1-inch insulated glass units will be mounted in bronze anodized frames, Rosen said.
He also noted Orchards Glass just completed work on the new Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport terminal.
