An active shooter training exercise is being planned for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday on the Lewis-Clark State College campus.
The exercise is being planned by the city of Lewiston and Nez Perce County, according to a city news release.
“This simulation aims to ensure a coordinated, timely, and effective response and recovery in the event of an active shooter incident on campus,” according to the news release.
Officials are providing notice about the exercise to LCSC students and staff, neighbors in the area, local media and the general public. Residents in the vicinity may hear alarms, simulated gunshots and other loud noises.
Among the entities involved are the city of Lewiston, Nez Perce County, LCSC, the city of Clarkston, Idaho State Police, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Idaho Office of Emergency Management and Public Health – Idaho North Central District.
