Man reported overdue in Idaho County located; two others remain missing

One of three people reported missing in Idaho County over the weekend has been safely located, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

Jose Mendez-Morales, 42, of Tacoma, who was traveling to Elk City, has been found. Mendez-Morales was reported missing Sunday after his family had not heard from him since Sept. 25.

Search efforts are still underway for 76-year-old Connie Johnson, of Nezperce, who was reported missing up the Selway River in the Fog Mountain area near Big Rock.

Terrence Woods, a 27-year-old Maryland man was also reported missing in a separate incident. Woods was last seen near the Penman Mine near Orogrande.
