MOSCOW — A newly built 24-hour convenience store, deli and gas station recently opened at 802 State Highway 8 at Moscow.

Fairco Mini Mart, owned by Pat Fairbanks of Spokane, is managed by Judi Thompson. Thompson said the deli, with its inside seating, has been the most successful aspect of the store.

“Most of the things are cooked right here,” she said. Roasted chicken, hamburgers, burritos, sandwiches, potato, macaroni and pasta salads, and homemade cookies are all sold.

Since opening in mid-summer, the store has served many out-of-town visitors from as far away as Florida.

Thompson also volunteers for the Department of Commerce’s North Central Idaho Tourism Association. She said her job as manager lets her to talk to tourists to find out what attracted them to Idaho and to give them information she has on hand.

The mini mart also rents videocassettes. She said she has 300 videos on hand, but soon the number is expected to reach 500.

Other offerings include groceries, Conoco auto products, beer, wine, cold pop, a car wash and a tool chest for minor car repairs.
