Famed professional boxer Archie Moore signs an autograph for Heidi Orup at Lapwai High School in this Barry Kough photo published in the April 25, 1991, Lewiston Tribune. Orup was an exchange student at LHS from Denmark and asked Moore to sign for her while he was visiting students at the school April 24. He had made several visits to north central Idaho in recent years, according to the photo caption. According to boxrec.com, Moore competed in the light heavyweight division from 1935-63 and had a total of 186 wins. He held the World Light Heavyweight Champion title from 1952-62. Moore died in 1998.
