A crew works pouring concrete for the first span on the south approach to the new U.S. Highway 95 Spalding Bridge in this photo published in the March 27, 1962, Lewiston Tribune. The first 50 yards were poured, according to the accompanying story, before rain started falling steadily enough to interfere: "Lewiston Pre-Mix Concrete, Inc., trucks slogged through muddy roads on the south shore of the Clearwater River to dump 50 yards on the span leading to the overpass of the Camas Prairie Railroad tracks."
