Idaho's governor-elect joined state legislators and officials from Northern Idaho College of Education on the Lewiston campus in this photo published in the Nov. 20, 1950, Lewiston Tribune. Those pictured are, from left, Len Jordan, of Grangeville, the governor-elect; Milton Horsley, of Soda Springs, chairperson of the Republication state central committee; G.W. Todd, president of NICE (now Lewis-Clark State College); state Sen. L. Cotty Lowry, D-St. Maries; Rep. Tom Bell, R-Rupert; Frank Devery, NICE bursar; and Rep. Arthur Wilson, R-Cambridge. In this photo, provided by NICE, the group was leaving the college health center as part of an informal tour of the college. According to an accompanying story, the men "inspected facilities at the college including the industrtial arts department (and) the new $375,000 men's dormitory now under construction ... ." The group also favorably noted the "steady growth of the institution, where registration shows a 22 percent gain in the last two years ... ."
