Dworshak National Fish Hatchery has some good news and some bad news for fishermen.

The bad news is that half of the rainbow trout being reared for release in Dworshak Reservoir near Orofino have been destroyed. They were found to be contaminated with IHN disease, said Wayne Olson, hatchery manager at Ahsahka.

The good news is that the young steelhead being reared are so far surviving better this year than last, Olson said.
