Triston Arnzen pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder today before 2nd District Judge Michelle Evans at the Nez Perce County Courthouse in Lewiston.

Arnzen, 15, of Lewiston, appeared in person wearing a green shirt and blue jeans with his public defender, Lawrence Moran, to plead to the charges. Arnzen’s case has been in mediation since December when the jury trial was initially scheduled.

Arnzen was charged with the two counts of attempted murder after the shooting of George Hamblin Jr., Arnzen’s stepfather, and Macayla Hamblin, Arnzen’s stepsister, on Feb. 27, 2022, on the 600 block of Bryden Drive in Lewiston. Both Hamblins survived the shooting.

Arnzen and Marks, who were both 14-year-olds when they were charged, were charged as adults.

Arnzen's sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 23.
