SEL promotes Sorenson to VP of manufacturing
PULLMAN - Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories employee Leith Sorenson has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of manufacturing.
Sorenson answers to Tony Lee, SEL's chief manufacturing officer. Lee is part of SEL's six-man top executive team.
Sorenson most recently was senior manufacturing director. He joined SEL in 2000 and has held a number of jobs, including quality systems specialist, senior quality systems analyst and operation manager.
SEL is the largest private employer in north central Idaho and southeastern Washington with about 3,000 employees split between Pullman and Lewiston. The company invents, designs and builds digital products that protect power grids around the world.
Groundbreaking set for Pullman hospital expansion
PULLMAN - Pullman Regional Hospital has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for a $3 million expansion project at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The event will take place behind the hospital at 835 Bishop Blvd. next to the emergency department entrance. Those scheduled to attend include hospital CEO Scott Adams; president of the hospital board of commissioners, Tricia Grantham; president of the hospital foundation, Pat Wright; Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson; and Design West architect Ned Warnick.
The project will nearly double the number of outpatient rooms at the hospital. The 10,000-square-foot building will feature more-spacious rooms to provide a quiet environment for recovering patients.
