Bill’s Heating & A/C has expanded with a brick-and-mortar building at 1332 G St. in Lewiston, which the company has upgraded with improvements such as a fresh coat of red, white and blue paint.

The company specializes in installation and maintenance of residential heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems as well as water heaters, said Shaun Lacy, manager of digital marketing and advertising for the company.

One of its most prominent projects was its recent donation and completion of a heating and cooling system to the Lake City Playhouse, a Hayden community theater group, Lacy said.

The business has about 200 employees, has served north central Idaho for 1½ years and is hiring for a number of positions in Lewiston, he said.

The family-owned, Post Falls-based company teaches its staff at its own educational center in Hayden, subsidizes training costs and provides paid on-the-job instruction, Lacy said.

Its roots go back more than 30 years to when Bill Herbert opened an appliance repair business in Coeur d’Alene.

His grandson, Nathan Norman, acquired the business in 2014 and shifted its focus to heating, cooling and ventilation systems in a territory that originally consisted of northern Idaho and eastern Washington.

The building in Lewiston acquired by Bill’s Heating & A/C once served as the central office for Inland Cellular. It had been proposed as a site for a low-barrier homeless shelter, but that plan failed to win the backing of Lewiston’s city council.

The telephone number of Bill’s Heating & A/C is (208) 777-5528.

In addition to its products and services for pregnant women and new moms, it provides diagnostic ultrasounds through referrals of medical providers, said Gilkey, a sonographer who is employed full time at Pullman Regional Hospital.

Those ultrasounds are reviewed by a radiologist and shared with the medical provider that ordered them, she said.

The quality of the tests is the same as what is offered at hospitals and clinics, but the procedures are less expensive, Gilkey said.

“I don’t accept insurance for the diagnostic ultrasounds, but an itemized invoice can be provided to the patient for them to submit to their insurance for reimbursement,” she said.

Moscow Diagnostic Ultrasound is open by appointment. Its telephone number is (208) 410-6044.

The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter has a fundraising goal of $7 million to replace its present location, which has inadequate quarantine, isolation and surgery areas. Contributions are being accepted at lcshelter.org.

Zions Bank supported the Moscow Affordable Housing Trust with $10,000 as part of the bank’s 150-year anniversary celebration.
