Blast from the Past / 1993: Serving up bar cookies

Sandra Chenoweth serves one of her pineapple bar cookies in her Lewiston kitchen in this Mike Venso photo published in the April 21, 1993, Lewiston Tribune. The accompany food column by Sula Keeling told of Chenoweth's hobby of quilting, which she enjoyed as much as cooking and baking. Chenoweth was a member of the Seaport Quilters' Guild and its members were planning their eighth annual Festival of Quilts. In addition to the pineapple bar cookies, other recipes Chenoweth shared with readers included tuna rice casserole, salmon appetizer and banana jam.
