A group of alumni of the federal Civilian Conservation Corps gathered for this reunion photo in 1990 in front of Spalding Hall on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston. This photo was submitted by Thomas Eier, of Lewiston, and his father, Doug Eier, is seated in the front row, third from the right. The CCC program was one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's so-called "alphabet agencies" of the New Deal and was created to relieve unemployment during the Great Depression by providing conservation work around the nation.
