Blast from the Past / 1951: Showing off her fashions
Joan Hasfurther models a two-piece outfit in this Al Munson photo published in the Aug. 22, 1951, Lewiston Tribune. The photo accompanied several back-to-school stories in the Tribune, including fashion tips including "match-mate styles" with suits and separates that could "be intermingled to vary a boy's wardrobe" and Hasfurther's outfit in "pinwale corduroy with jersey trimmings for the snug belt, collar and cuffs." The photo caption noted Hasfurther is a 17-year-old Lewiston High School senior who also wore a "snug hat of corduroy to match and flat, moccasin-toed sport shoes. Her outfit was provided from C.C. Anderson department store's fashion and shoe departments in Lewiston.
