PULLMAN - Lentil egg rolls will be one of the many unique legume offerings available at the 21st Annual National Lentil Festival taking place this weekend in downtown Pullman.

Tonight

Main events begin tonight with the Friday Night Street Fair from 5 to 11 p.m. downtown. The fair features the world's largest bowl of free lentil chili, live music, children's activities and vendors.

Regional Theatre of the Palouse will offer sneak previews of "Annie Get Your Gun" as part of activities downtown tonight. Previews will be every hour from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the RTOP Theatre, 122 N. Grand Ave.

The price of admission is by donation and all proceeds will go to Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse.

The show tells the story of Little Sure Shot Annie Oakley, her romance with expert marksman Frank Butler and their adventures traveling with Colonel Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show.

Saturday

Events include an 11 a.m. parade. The Lentil Festival Marketplace, with arts and crafts by local artists and live music, is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Reaney Park. The Lentil Lane Food Court featuring lentil-based foods will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first 400 people in line will judge the top six recipes in the Legendary Lentil Cook-Off which starts at 2 p.m.

A Microbrewery Tasting Tent will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The Lentil Land Children's Area will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with art projects, bubble pools, a Kid's Stage at noon and more.

Pullman Gallery and Studios will feature artist demonstrations.

Judy Mousseau of Lewiston will draw and sketch people for $10 each from 5-9 p.m. today. Pullman artist Lolly Owens will paint with acrylics and show work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is at 107 S. Grand Ave., Suite B.
