The Lewiston couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 6.

Jerry Branson and Martha Knudsen were married Aug. 6, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nezperce.

They spent their careers in Seattle, both retiring in 1994. Jerry worked at Boeing Aircraft Co. for 32 years as a nummerical control machinist, tool design engineer and spares finance. Martha was an office manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co. commercial sales for 30 years.

So many vacations were spent in Idaho, Martha suggested they move to Idaho and travel somewhere else, which they did in 1997. They bought a succession of travel trailers and spent time touring the United States with their best friends, Fred and Bonnie Schaffer.

Jerry is a NASCAR fan and looks forward to Fridays at Tate’s house for coffee with friends. Martha keeps busy making quilts and researching genealogy.

They have one son, two daughters, five grandchildren and two great-grandsons. A daughter passed away in 1990.
