Bill and Audrey Steiner will be celebrating their 50th anniversary Saturday with family and friends.
They met while attending the University of Idaho in 1973, and were married June 15, 1974, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Hawaii.
Bill grew up in Lewiston and attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. Audrey grew up in Hilo and attended the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She transferred schools in her junior year and graduated from the UI.
After marrying and graduating, they moved back to Lewiston in 1976, where Bill returned to work at Steiner Audio Video, the family business. Audrey ran a home daycare and preschool for 22 years and then went to work at the family business in 1999. Bill is now semi-retired from the business, while Audrey has been fully retired.
They are active members of All Saints Catholic Parish in Lewiston.
They have three sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom still live in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
The couple enjoy boating and camping with their kids, grandkids and extended family. Their favorite camping spots have been around Lake Pend Oreille. Family campouts on Memorial and Labor Day weekends have been a longstanding tradition and are a great way to open and close the summer season.
