› Clarkston’s Joel Dahmen will be competing in his 25th event of the season, Wyndham Championship, the final regular-season Tour event, starting Thursday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Dahmen, who is in his sixth full season on the PGA Tour and won his first event on the Tour more than 16 months ago, missed the cut in the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club on Friday.
Dahmen will tee off in the first round at 10 a.m. Pacific on No. 10 with playing partners Jim Herman and William McGirt.
He currently is No. 82 in the FedEx Cup standings and should safely be in the playoff field, with the first postseason event the FedEx St. Jude Championship from Aug. 11-14 at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn.
Dahmen also made the Golf Digest list of the top 30 nice guys on the PGA Tour, it was announced. He came in at No. 27. This, after his grandfather recently revealed Dahmen and his wife, Lona, are expecting their first child.
