MARTIAL ARTSWarabay warriors win national medals

Representing the Inland Empire team, pupils of the Lewiston/Clarkston-based Warabay Karate School medaled in five individual competitions and one team event at the AAU Karate Nationals held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. from July 2-6.

Warabay’s Wyatt Hite (14-year-old intermediate boys) and JC Morgenstern (11-year-old novice girls) took first place in Weapons for their respective divisions.

Jade Wilke — 10-year-old Novice Kumite, 2nd; Weapons, 3rd

Rachel Gall — 10-year-old Intermediate Kata, 2nd; Kumite, 3rd

JC Morgenstern — 11-year-old Novice Kumite, 3rd; Weapons, 1st

Haley Braae — 13-year-old Intermediate Kumite, 2nd; Weapons, 3rd

Wyatt Hite — 14-year-old Intermediate Kumite, 3rd; Weapons, 1st

Nathan Gall, Haley Braae, Wyatt Hite — 17-and-under Advanced Team Kata, 4th
