TENNIS

Greyhound alum gains national glory

Pullman High alumnus Tom Loucks, who was a two-time 2A state singles champion for the Greyhounds before graduating in 1975, won the USTA National Senior Father/Son Hardcourt Tennis Championships in Claremont, Calif. last weekend.

Loucks, who currently resides in Newport Beach, Calif., partnered with his oldest son Matthew. The team of Loucks/Loucks saved match points in three consecutive three-set matches en route to the title.

Stocks siblings score medals

Lewiston siblings Sydni, Rhyli and Cord stocks combined to place in eight events altogether at the Saito Karate Do Classic held in McMinnville, Ore. on June 9.

Cord and Rhyli earned gold medals in 9-and-under novice Weapons and 10-13-year-old girls’ Kumite respectively, while Sydni managed silver in 14-17-year-old girls’ advanced Sparring.
