LCSC GIRLS’ BASKETBALL TEAM TOURNAMENT — This tournament for high school and junior high teams on June 7-9 at the Lewis-Clark State Activity Center. The cost is $275 per team. Each team is guaranteed five games. Three levels of competition including high school varsity, varsity/JV and middle school. Games start Friday evening and finish Sunday late afternoon. Organizers will try to accommodate scheduling conflicts, including two-day schedules on a first-come basis. Dorm rooms are available at $10 per bed per night. MEMORABILIA AUCTION — A bat and ball autographed by John Olerud are among the featured items at the fifth annual auction, raffle, walk and picnic benefiting the Scleroderma Foundation Spokane Support Group on June 8 at Mirabeau Meadows Park in Spokane Valley. Also on hand will be an autographed photo of Don Larsen, bicycles, and tickets for the Spokane Comedy Club, Silverwood Theme Park, Spokane Indians and Spokane Chiefs. Entry cost is $25 cost until the day of the event, when it goes to $30 and a T-shirt can’t be guaranteed. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Tennis Lessons — The Lewis-Clark State College Tennis Center will offer junior lessons beginning June 10 and running throughout the summer. There will be four sessions: one for beginning juniors (from 9-10 a.m.), one for intermediate juniors (from 10-11:30 a.m.), one for advanced juniors and high school varsity level players (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) and one for high school junior varsity and advanced intermediates (1:30-3:30 p.m.). LCSC GIRLS’ BASKETBALL CAMP — The Warrior Camp is open to girls entering grades fifth through 12th on June 16-20 at the LCSC Activity Center. It will be conducted from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. The cost is $165 for day campers or $285 for overnight campers. CAPES ’N CROWNS FUN RUN — This local race will take place on June 22 beginning at Kiwanis Park and will offer two courses, one measuring a mile and the other about three miles. Both segments will start at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero or royalty outfits. LCSC GIRLS’ BASKETBALL SHOOTING CAMP — This camp is for girls entering grades third through 12th. It will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. each day from June 24-27 at the Lewis-Clark State Activity Center. The cost is $100. The focus will be on the Pro-Shooting System with position shooting and skill development. The camp director is LCSC coach Brian Orr. Confluence elite track club — This club, which caters to kids ages 9 and up, will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in late May and throughout all of June, finishing up on June 27. Practices will take place at Vollmer Bowl from 6:30-8 p.m. and feature coaching from Lewis-Clark State track and field athletes and assistant coach Cyrus Hall.
