The Lewis-Clark Twins fell 16-7 in Game 1 but came back with a vengeance for a five-inning mercy-rule victory in Game 2 by a score of 11-0 in an American Legion baseball doubleheader against visiting Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday at Harris Field.

Three hits including a home run from Dawson Bonfield were not enough to keep the Twins in contention in Game 1 as Coeur d’Alene more-than-doubled their score. In Game 2, Tyson Wallace had three hits and two RBI for Lewis-Clark (6-6), while teammate Dalton Hart allowed the Lumbermen only one base hit as he pitched all five innings.

“Dawson was hitting rockets all day long,” said Twins coach Kevin Maurer. “Ty also had himself a great day and of course Hart with the one-hitter. Just the response of our guys in Game 2 was great.”
