GIFFORD — Good Hope Lutheran Church’s vacation Bible camp runs Tuesday through Thursday. The church is at 28157 Settlement Road near Gifford. The Bible camp will be led by a team of camp counselors from Lutherhaven Outdoor Ministries, near Coeur d’Alene.

The theme for this year’s Bible school is “Adventure Awaits,” built around the Bible passage from Ephesians 5:1-2: “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved Children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us ... ”

Tuesday’s lessons and activities will begin with registration at 1:30 p.m. and open at 2 p.m. The day will end with a family meal at 6 p.m. and close at 7 p.m. Wednesday will be a full day beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a meal at 6 p.m. and closing program at 7 p.m. Thursday, the last day of camp, will begin with breakfast at 8 a.m. and wrapping up at 11:30 a.m. Snacks and meals will be served and it is recommended that children wear comfortable play clothes.

Families are welcome to stay and help, especially if their children are younger than kindergarten age.

There is no fee for the Bible camp. A pre-Bible camp program is available for youth entering sixth grade and junior/senior high ages from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Good Hope.

A free community meal will be served from 4-5:30 p.m. today at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 731 Eighth St., Lewiston. The church’s food pantry is open from 8:45 a.m. to noon every Tuesday.


Lynn White, of Lewiston, will tell of his recent trip on the aircraft carrier John C. Steniss at 6 p.m. Sunday at SonRise Church, 2620 22nd St., in the Clarkston Heights. Lynn’s journey was part of the “Tiger Trip” program, departing from Mayport, Fla., and finishing at Norfolk, Va.


The Rev. Gopaul Wilfred, national missionary to Venezuela for the Bible Missionary Church, will be the featured speaker at a service beginning at 7 p.m. Monday at the Lewiston Bible Missionary Church, 11th Street and Burrell Avenue. Wilfred will be accompanied by his family, who will also participate.
